Born in Poznań, the Polish mezzo-soprano MARTA WRYK has been active as a recitalist giving concerts in Poland, Italy, Germany and the United States for a few years now.
Recently Ms. Wryk has won the first prize in the 15th International Voice Competition in Gorizia, Italy. Last year the young artist had her debut at the Manhattan School of Music Opera Studio where she perfomed Prince Orlowsky in Die Fledermaus. This year she will appear as Mirtillo in Haendel`s Il Pastor Fido, also at the Manhattan School of Music. While attending voice classes at the Warsaw University of Music, Marta had appeared in many operas and operatic ensembles, her parts included Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, 3rd Lady in Der Zauberflöte, Idamante in Idomeneo Re Di Creta and Ms. Quickly in Falstaff.
Ms. Wryk’s concert experience spans appearances in the Kosciuszko Foundation and De Lamar Mansion in New York, Henryk Wieniawski Music Society in Poznan, Kammeropere Schloss Rheinsberg in Germany, International Festival Art-Connection in Rotterdam and First International Baroque Festival in Warsaw.
In her still young career, she has been selected for master classes of such artists as: Ileana Cotrubas, Tom Krause, Helena Łazarska, Alison Pearce, Simon Standage, Wiesław Ochmann and Jerzy Marchwiński. In the past, she had also studied voice with Włodzimierz Zalewski, Mikołaj Moroz and Charles Kellis. Currently she is studying at the Manhattan School of Music under Maitland Peters.
Her future concert engagements include recital with pianist Kevin Kenner in Albuquerque, concert of operatic arias with Toronto Sinfonietta in Toronto, recitals in Chopin Foundation, Miami and in Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Italy. This summer Ms.Wryk will be an Apprentice Artist in Caramoor Bel Canto Young Artists Program. Ms.Wryk graduated with distinction from Warsaw University of Music.
In appreciation of her numerous achievements in both music and humanities, Ms. Wryk has been awarded scholarships from the Polish Children`s Fund, Ministry of Education, the Prime Minister of Poland, Business and Professional Women`s Club and the LC Heart Foundation. Ms. Wryk is a also recipient of the Manhattan School of Music Scholarship.

Primo Premio 15° Concorso Internazionale di Canto Solistico „C. A. Seghizzi” – Gorizia 2009
Nata a Poznan (Polonia), Marta Wryk è vincitrice del primo premio al 15° Concorso Internazionale di Canto Solistico “C. A. Seghizzi” 2009 di Gorizia e al Concorso Nazionale Polacco “Giovani Talenti”. Ha anche rappresentato la Polonia al Festival Internazionale Art Connection di Rotterdam.
Protagonista di diversi concerti, ha interpretato un repertorio che spazia da Bach al Lied romantico, alla musica contemporanea. Nello scorso aprile ha debuttato alla Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater di New York nel ruolo del Principe Orlowsky in Die Fledermaus.
Tra i concerti più importanti vanno ricordati quelli alla Filarmonica di Poznan, il recital alla Wieniawski Music Society, al I° Festival Barocco Internazionale di Varsavia, al Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg (Germania).
Laureata con lode all’Università di Varsavia, si sta perfezionando alla Manhattan School of Music di New York. Ha seguito inoltre varie masterclasses con Ileana Cotrubas, Tom Krause, Helena Łazarska, Alison Pearce, Simon Standage, Wiesław Ochmann e Jerzy Marchwiński.
